Developers.Net Wishes You a Very Happy Thanksgiving

Published on
January 26, 2024

To call 2020 atypical is an understatement. The losses we’ve all suffered are immense; literally hundreds of thousands have perished due to the COVID-19 pandemic, millions have lost their job and livelihood, and everyone has had their lives disrupted beyond belief.

We have all been required to get accustomed to a whole new reality in which we can’t reach out and hold someone, and our most basic human needs have proven to be privileges that can be taken away in the blink of an eye, in this “new normal” everyone talks about daily.

On top of all this, we are living in an era of political, social, and ideological division. The country seems to be more polarized than ever making everything seem like a struggle, where teams are picked and flags are flown… but amid all this, if we stop for a second, take a deep breath, and look around, we can see there is still so much for which to be thankful and feel hopeful, so let’s pause and regroup.

There is no denying that perhaps we still lack a clear view of the long-term damages that 2020 will leave behind, but above it all, the struggles, the trials and tribulations, the most important asset we have going for us is each other; everyone, blue and red; black, white, and every shade and tone there is. We are here. It’s us. And we have fallen before; we have been tried and put to the challenge in the past, and we have always stood up, stronger and more resolute.

So let’s take this holiday as an opportunity to count our blessings, and in true Thanksgiving fashion, acknowledge and show appreciation for everyone that is working tirelessly for our safety, praise each other for our resilience, and marvel in the capacity of the human spirit to continue moving forward.

Sir Winston Churchill famously said “Never let a good crisis go to waste,” and that is exactly what we must extract from these crazy times: recognize, appreciate, learn, and grow, in every aspect of our lives, in our companies, our communities, our families, and in ourselves.

We, at Developers.Net, are thankful for all of you, our clients, our nearshore programmers, our in-house staff, and each and every person who collaborates with us to build our business and help us deliver the best service possible. We are thankful for our families, who are constantly by our side, supporting us and cheering us on; for our friends, who we haven't been able to embrace for a while but are there virtually, always. We are thankful for the chance to continue working and providing jobs and business solutions to our partners.

We are thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
